Program and Operations Supervisor City of Richmond - Stormwater Utility Richmond, Virginia, United States
* Ticketed Event Welcome to Richmond! Stretch your legs and explore Richmond’s Fall Line along and across the James River and Richmond’s Floodwall, which offers protection to the city on both side of the river’s banks during high flows. Contemplate the murals from the most recent RVA Street Art Festival as you stroll along Richmond’s Canal Walk, a path that is the happy byproduct of some of Richmond’s combined sewer system infrastructure upgrades. Cross Richmond’s newest 1,600-foot-long pedestrian bridge above the James River—the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge—and you’ll be treated to the best skyline views on your journey. You’ll traverse paved and gravel stretches of level trails, and there will be sets of stairs (both up and down). Walkers who join should be prepared for the weather (chilly or warm—February afternoons can swing either way!), and excited to walk a relatively flat and level (nearly) four miles. For the most part, your journey will be an out-and-back adventure on off-street, car-free paths, so you’ll have time to both learn about Richmond and the infrastructure you encounter and to simply enjoy the views and the company of other IECA Annual Conference attendees. >Additional Tour Information
