Mike Perez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University, where he specializes in the evaluation of stormwater practices, methods, and technologies. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. from Auburn University and B.S. from Florida State University. He oversees the research, testing, and training programs at the Auburn University – Stormwater Research Facility, where he has been involved in investigating and improving stormwater management practices using full-scale testing techniques. Dr. Perez has been engaged in a variety of research and outreach projects through the FHWA, EPA, USDA, USGS, NSF, State DOTs, and local cities and communities. He serves as the chair of the Transportation Research Board’s Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Stormwater committee and the chair of the Standards and Practices committee for the International Erosion Control Association. He is a registered PE in the state of Alabama and Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control.
