The nationwide CISEC program is the most comprehensive inspector sediment and erosion control training and certification examination available within North America for qualified individuals having at least 2-years of inspection experience. Currently, CISEC, Inc. has more than 2,000 registrants in the United States and over 400 Canadian registrants.
The 1½-days of comprehensive training consist of four modules that provide inspectors of sediment and erosion control with a professional understanding of:
* EPA Rules and Regulations as they apply to inspectors. During this 2-hour presentation, registrants will learn about what is
necessary to meet EPA inspection requirements and obligations as specified in the 2012 Construction General Permit (CGP).
* Inspector Background Material to provide registrants with essential information during a 1-hour presentation for accountability
to clients and regulatory agencies.
* Best Management Practices on the many different sediment and erosion control methods found on construction sites
throughout North America. During this 3-hour presentation, registrants also learn about writing inspection reports and
developing corrective action plans.
* Conducting Inspections that provide registrants with 3-hours of “hands-on” inspection experience while conducting a virtual
construction site tour.
Discounts are available for 5 or more employees from the same governmental agency or company wanting to attend the 1½ days of “In-Person” training. In addition to our intermediate level “In-Person” training program, we have an “On-Line” program which allows registrants to review material at their own pace at home or office.
In the afternoon of the second day, those applicants having at least 2-years of inspection experience and approval by CISEC, Inc. can sit for a comprehensive closed book examination. Once they pass the 3½-hour certification examination with a score of 75% or better, they become a CISEC registrant.
In order to foster the professional development of individuals having less than two years of construction site sediment and erosion control inspection experience or education to become a CISEC registrant, applicants can apply for the “In-Training” program to gain a CISEC-IT designation.
