Groundwork RVA
Richmond, Virginia, United States
Rob Jones is the executive director of Groundwork RVA. Rob came to Groundwork in 2018 with a background in consulting, non-profit management and advocacy. He holds an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and a Master’s in Psychology. Rob’s passions revolve around youth empowerment and voice, especially for Black and Brown youth working to find pathways to grow and thrive. He has many years’ experience working in community engagement, racial equity and youth development spaces. Rob has lived in Richmond for over 20 years and is the proud parent of 2 Richmond Public Schools graduates. Rivers and green spaces have been especially important in his life and he has seen their positive, trauma-reducing impacts on young people and adults alike. Rob is honored to lead Groundwork RVA, an amazing organization that respects and amplifies the creativity and impact young people bring to the table when provided with tools, support, and a vision of how the world can be made better through their efforts. “I built that!” is one the most moving things he regularly gets to hear. Rob’s goal is to deepen the set of opportunities Groundwork RVA provides so that more young people each year are impacted and see opportunities to thrive and improve their communities.
