Sean Hayden has served as the Executive Director of the Lake Waramaug Task Force for the past seven years, and he has over 30 years of experience in Environmental Conservation with an in-depth knowledge of the ecology and natural history of Northwester CT. Prior to joining the Task Force, Sean spent 18 years as Executive Director and Soil Scientist at the Northwest Conservation District (NWCD). During his tenure at NWCD Sean worked side by side with the 34 towns and residents of Northwest CT to conserve natural resources by using sustainable development strategies. He is a Certified Soil Scientist, Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineator and a knowledgeable champion of Low Impact Development (LID). He has worked with multiple wetland, zoning and conservation commissions to revise municipal regulations, draft watershed management plans and to improve sediment and erosion control and stormwater quality management plans. Prior to working at NWCD, Sean spent 3 years as an AgroForester with the Peace Corps in Kenya. Just out of college Sean spent six years with an environmental consulting firm helping to design the clean-up of Superfund sites all across the US. He graduated with a degree from UConn in Natural Resource Management and Engineering.
