Site photographs are a mandatory aspect of project management but downloading, cataloging, and mapping them – and making the most of them – can be a time consuming and frustrating task. What if you could use an app to do all of the work for you and it would allow sharing the images with your project team in real-time with your notes, georeferenced locations, and direction?
We knew from our own decades of experience in the field that we needed to make the process easy, affordable, efficient, and functional. We also wanted a secure cloud-based platform for sharing with our project partners, and for our own quick reference when we want to visualize project changes over time. We had a vision, and we translated it into software. After rigorous field testing we are ready to share it with the industry.
Join us for "Modernizing Photo Documentation: Leveraging Actionable Imagery" and discover a smarter, more efficient way to photograph, store, and organize your images. Our iOS app captures photos, records location and direction, organizes images through tagging and naming, and automatically uploads them to a secure cloud server. You can view your imagery in a searchable web browser, with photographs mapped for easy review. The user-friendly web portal makes sharing and downloading a snap.
We will use our own stormwater management and stream restoration projects to illustrate how this elegant approach saves time, reduces costs, and enhances project management by eliminating the frustrations, time, and energy that manual photo management requires. You’ll see how our app transforms your photos into readily available, actionable data to improve information sharing with clients and teams of all sizes.
Full Abstract: Photographing sites is a critical aspect for project management and data sharing. However, these images often end up in unorganized project folders, making it difficult to find specific photos, understand their context, or determine where they were taken. Our session, "Modernizing Photo Documentation: Leveraging Actionable Imagery," offers a secure, cloud-based solution that can transform how the industry can handle and utilize these images, making a previously time-consuming and inefficient process a snap.
Our innovative iOS app revolutionizes photo documentation through four key pillars:
1. Security: Built with the highest standards of data protection, our app ensures that your photographs and associated data remain safe and private. Only your staff can view and manage the images. Unlike other services and providers, your company's data is never sold or used for any other purposes.
2. Query Capabilities: Our app allows you to efficiently search and filter photos by various attributes such as service type, specific attributes, notes, date, and more. This powerful querying capability makes it easy to locate exactly what you need, when you need it.
3. Data Repository: The app serves as a robust repository, securely storing and backing up your imagery and data. By utilizing our cloud-based solution, you can reduce costs compared to on-premise storage for large data sets, ensuring that your data is both safe and easily accessible.
4. Location-Based Functionality: Making your photos truly actionable, the app pins each image to its geolocation on a web map. This feature allows you to view and interact with your imagery utilizing spatial data without additional software. The imagery is downloadable, and the maps are shareable with outside clients at the click of a button.
Designed for ease of use, our app ensures that capturing and managing photos in the field is quick and effortless. The app automatically uploads data to the cloud servers, making imagery appear live on our web portal - seamlessly connecting field operations with office management. Additionally, the app can function completely offline, automatically uploading data as soon as a connection is established, ensuring even the most remote locations can be photo documented.
In this session, we will present real-world case studies, including a stream restoration and a stormwater management (SWM) project, demonstrating how our app saves time, reduces costs, and enhances project management by automating the processes of uploading, organizing, and sorting photos. Discover how our app transforms your photos into actionable data, making them easily accessible and useful. Join us to see how you can streamline your photo documentation processes, improve project efficiency, and achieve cost savings.
